Le Jardin Humoristique
![]() |
When he retired in 1965 Fernand
Chatelain turned his hand to sculpture. At first the former baker worked
with dough to create fantastical loaves. Soon he started using chicken
wire and cement and over the next twenty years populated his garden
with strange figures. When he died in 1988 the garden fell into disrepair
and the sculptures started to crumble. Recently the local authorities
have supplied the money to restore the statues and they have now been
returned to their former glory. |
